Sapelli - (Entsndropharagma cylindricum)

The German name - Sapelli, Mahagoni English and Italian - Sapelli. Growing in equatorial Africa. Sapelli has properties similar to genuine Mahogany, and their surface is very similar. Therefore, it is often used instead of Mahogany and called the same name, or, in the light of a local names - zipo-Mahogany.

The tree is very high and large, flat trunk is cylindrical. Zabolon and heart drastically different. Zabolon wide, could have all shades from white to gray. Mature wood - reddish-brown with a beautiful golden glitter. Spiral location fibers attached special decorative wood. Well be polished. Has a tendency to curl during drying.

Weight: 600 - 650 kg/m3. Hardness: average.
